Prior to working with Solarplaza Borja spent 9 years in China focusing on managing a variety of sustainability related projects in areas including microfinance, education and healthcare throughout the Greater China region. He also held the position of Team Lead in Microsoft focusing on software localization testing for Windows 7.
Borja holds a Master Degree in International Development Studies from the University of Sydney and speaks several languages including Spanish, Mandarin, Dutch, French and English.

A dual Argentine/British citizen, Mr. Scriven was previously Vice President of Corporate Risk and Sustainability at the International Finance Corporation (IFC) in addition to other leadership positions. Before joining the IFC, Mr. Scriven was Chief Financial Officer of Banco Hipotecario in Argentina. During the past two decades he has concentrated his efforts on the promotion of the private sector in development. Fernando Cubillos is the Head of Energy at the Infrastructure and Energy Division of the Inter-American Investment Corporation (IIC). Mr. Cubillos is a Chilean national, is an energy and climate finance expert, with 24 years experience and deep knowledge in power and carbon markets. He has structured, financed, and managed energy and carbon related projects and transactions in Latin America and Africa.
Prior to joining the IIC, he was the founder and managing partner of Antuko Comercialization, an energy advisory and development firm focused in innovative solutions for power markets, first in Chile, and then in Mexico. In 2013, Antuko launched the first Price Stabilization Fund for renewable energy projects, a hedging structure to mitigate merchant and production volatility risk. Antuko also developed proprietary models and softwares to evaluate power market risks in different countries.
Previously Mr. Cubillos was the head for Latin America of the Environmental Markets Unit of J.P. Morgan. He also held positions in the Carbon Finance Unit of the World Bank, and Hidroeléctrica Guardia Vieja, a power firm in Chile.
Mr. Cubillos holds an Industrial and Electric Engineering degree from Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Maryland, USA.

Javier Rodríguez de Colmenares is the Chief of the Infrastructure & Energy Division at the Inter‐ American Investment Corporation (IIC) since August 2016. As head of the Division, he leads the private sector agenda of IDB Group in the infrastructure space with a focus on Transportation, Energy, Water & Sanitation, PPPs and Social Infrastructure (Education & Health). Mr. Rodriguez de Colmenares, a Spanish national, has extensive experience in Project Finance, LBOs, Debt Advisory, PPP structuring as well as in Derivatives, Risk Management and Debt re‐structuring in Latin America, North America, Europe and Australia. Prior to joining the IIC, he was Deputy Chief Risk Officer at Banco Santander Brasil where he led a team of 1,000 people and managed a portfolio of more than USD 200 Billion in the middle of one of the worst macro‐economic and political crisis in Brazil of the last century. His major responsibilities were in the Wholesale, Middle Market and Sales & Trading portfolios. During his time in Brazil, the share price more than doubled. Before working in Brazil, he was Global Head of Project & Acquisition Finance for the Santander Group based in Madrid leading a team of more than 50 people based in Madrid, London, New York, Mexico City, Sao Paulo, Santiago, Bogota and Sydney. During his tenure as Global Head of Project Finance, Santander ranked Top 3 in the Global Project Finance Bookrunner League Tables and the bank developed the Project Bond underwriting platform, particularly in the Americas, involving domestic and international institutional investors in the financing of infrastructure and energy assets. He started his career at BBVA as a Project Finance Banker focused primarily on the structuring and financial advisory of projects and PPPs in the transportation and social infrastructure sectors. Mr. Rodriguez de Colmenares received his Law Degree and MA in Economics and Business Administration from ICADE (Universidad Pontificia Comillas, Madrid) and his Master’s Degree in Investment Banking and Global Markets from BBVA’s School of Finance.

Mathias Möhrpahl cuenta con más de 8 años de experiencia en Latinoamérica y en el sector financiero de consultoría internacional. Durante los últimos años, ha estado trabajando en Ficus Capital, una de las principales boutiques de banca de inversión enfocada puramente en el cono sur de América Latina, con capacidad de ejecución de transacciones completas y desarrollo de proyectos en Argentina, Brasil, Uruguay y otros países de América Latina. Ha trabajado en varias transacciones importantes en los sectores de energía renovable, alimentos y bebidas, transporte y en el sector de servicios financieros en países como Uruguay, Argentina y Brasil.
Actualmente, está muy implicado en estructuraciones de acuerdos de energía renovable y en el desarrollo de proyectos en Argentina, donde Ficus Capital ha establecido recientemente una nueva oficina.

Werner has been focusing on the global power, renewable energy, and infrastructure sector for 29 years advising clients on M&A, structured financing and tax equity investments in the US, Europe, Latin America and Africa with a total transaction record in excess of $30Billion. He is currently the Global Head Renewable Energy at StormHarbour, a global investment bank headquartered in London and New York. Werner has extensive experience in raising capital for renewable energy assets in Latin America.
He represented pension funds and institutional investors acquiring infrastructure, transportations and renewable energy on-shore and off-shore portfolios and worked with utilities, IPPs and developers disposing asset portfolios and raising tax equity in the US. Before that, Werner was at CIT Capital Markets and BNP Paribas/Capstar responsible for domestic and cross-border power, infrastructure, equipment finance, telecom and transportation capital markets. He was also a Managing Director at Global Capital Finance and Reva Capital as Head of Renewable Energy and Infrastructure.
For 10 years, Werner worked at Shearman & Sterling's New York, Paris, London and Frankfurt offices, where he advised domestic and international clients on M&A, public and private initial and secondary securities offerings, structured finance, and leasing investments and at Mayer, Brown & Platt in New York where he worked on public structured finance and leasing transactions, tax-advantaged offerings, registered placements and private placements.
Werner is a graduate of the London School of Economics and Political Sciences, Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MITx), the University of Vienna Law School and the Vienna University School of Economics.

Engineer Sergio Asenjo is Electronic Engineer by Catholic University ICAI at Madrid (Spain). He gained his professional experiences in Asea Brown Boveri developing his career in all different positions at Automation and Electrical Systems projects in the Utility (Electricity, Gas and Water) business, gaining strong experience in Conventional Power Generation in all type of Power Plants (Coal, CCPP, Hydro, Diesel, etc.) , starting the activities on Solar Business in ABB at Power Systems.
He was the Local BU Manager for the Power Generation Business and Network Management at Spain and Portugal, within ten years. Additionally, he was heading the Center of Competence for Solar Systems within the Power Systems Division, doing all kind of projects of Photovoltaic, Thermal Concentrated Solar as well as Microgrids.
He had the Global role of Business Line Manager Solar at Power Systems Division until end of December 2015.
In 2016 funded with other partners Quantum Power Group a global renewable energy developer leveraging their experience in renewable and hybridizing with conventional energy with innovative solutions.
He was also professor during 12 years at Electronic Engineer by Catholic University of ICAI at Madrid (Spain).

Mr. Pyle’s career launched with close to a decade in management and strategy consulting, including time with The Boston Consulting Group (BCG) and Bain & Company. Alberto Cuter lleva en el sector de la energía solar desde 2008. Trabajó como director de ventas en Phoenix Solar y HelioSphera y, en 2010, se unió a Jinko Solar, donde abrió la rama italiana y posicionó a Jinko en el mercado italiano como proveedor líder de módulos en 2011 y 2012. En 2013 fue nombrado Director de Ventas de Mercados Emergentes (LATAM y MEA). Desde entonces, ha desarrollado y colocado a Jinko como líder de mercados importantes, como Sudáfrica y Chile, con más del 30% de la cuota de mercado, lo que lo convierte en el proveedor líder de módulos en la región.
En cuanto a la nueva estrategia de gestión de Jinko, en julio de 2015, fue nombrado Gerente General de Latinoamérica e Italia, para dirigir un equipo de altos directivos profesionales en 7 países de la región. De hecho, Jinko ha sido reconocido como líder del mercado en Chile, Brasil y Centroamérica, con más de 600 MW vendidos en la región.
Antes de entrar en la industria solar fotovoltaica, Alberto Cuter trabajó en la industria de las telecomunicaciones como Director de Ventas en empresas como Telecom Italia, Wind y Deloitte Consulting. Alberto tiene una licenciatura de Ingeniería Electrónica de la Universidad Politécnica de Milán (Italia) y un Máster en Telecomunicaciones de SSGRR (Italia).

Michael Ott, Vice President, is a member of the North American Renewable Power Team within BlackRock's Infrastructure Investment Group. He is responsible for sourcing and executing new equity investments for the Global Renewable Power Fund platform and supporting existing renewable power portfolio investments.
Prior to joining BlackRock in 2015, Mr. Ott was a member of both the equity sales and project financing teams at EDF Renewable Energy, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Electricite de France S.A. At EDF, Mr. Ott was responsible for managing the company's sell-side relationships for utility scale wind and solar power asset sales and project financing for one the largest North American renewable power developers. Mr. Ott began his career in 2007 in structured finance and fund compliance at Sidley Austin LLP and Citadel Investment Group in New York.
Mr. Ott earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Princeton University, a Masters of Science in Sustainable Energy Systems from University of Michigan and a Masters of Business administration from University of Michigan's Ross School of Business.

Vitor Rodrigues is Regional Manager for TÜV Rheinland's solar energy activities, in the South American region. Besides this, he is teacher for a post graduate course on Renewable Energies.
Vitor started his carreer at TÜV in 2006 in Portugal, starting as Junior Project Manager, eventually in the role of Business product manager Product certification. He holds a Chemical Engineering degree from the University Of Aveiro, in Portugal.

Prior to this, he worked for the Spanish construction and services multinational FCC, acting as Head of Renewable Energy Development, and for Iberdrola Renewables, firstly as O&M engineer and finally as O&M Director for USA, based in Philadelphia, USA.

Mark Harris is responsible for SMBC's project finance business in Chile. Actualmente funge como Presidente de la Sección Mexicana del Consejo de Negocios de Energía Mexico‐Estados Unidos y Presidente de la Asociación Mexicana de Energía Solar Fotovoltaica (Asolmex). Before joining Acumen, he was the Executive Director of the non-profit Social Investment Bank (Banca de Inversión Social), which has helped lead the development of the impact investing space in Colombia. Prior to that, he was the Founding Director of Invest in Bogota, a public-private partnership that promotes foreign direct investment to the Greater Bogota region. In 2009, Invest in Bogota was ranked as the top non-OECD investment promotion agency in the world by the IFC. Virgilio also headed the privatization unit at the Colombian Ministry of Finance and was an advisor on local economic development for the Bogota Planning Department. He has worked in private equity with FondElec Group, as a management consultant at Booz Allen Hamilton in Brazil and as a financial analyst at Citibank Spain. He holds a B.A. in Government from Harvard College, an M.S. from the MIT Sloan School of Management and an M.A. in Economics from NYU.

Richard Hansen is Founder and President of Soluz, Inc. For three decades, he has maintained a strong commitment to efforts to advance access to electricity using stand-alone photovoltaic (PV) systems in areas of developing countries that are not served by electrical grids. In 1984, he introduced PV technology in the Dominican Republic using small PV systems installed by local enterprises combined with microfinance to make PV affordable for rural families. This breakthrough became an early model that helped to guide other organization, such as the World Bank, with the integration of solar PV into electrification plans. Soluz, Inc., founded in 1993, provides consulting services to advance energy access. Through Soluz Hansen has advised solar PV projects that have delivered first-time electricity for millions of people. Thru its subsidiary, Soluz Honduras, founded in 1994, the company has also directly supplied tens of thousands of off-grid PV systems. Mr. Hansen started his career with the Westinghouse Electric Corporation as a manufacturing engineer and later as Manager of Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering in a business unit that produced heavy equipment for large coal-fired power plants. Hansen has a BS Mechanical Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) and an MBA from Boston University.

On January 21, 2009, Mr Chen was appointed as Managing Director for Latin America and Spain. As head of the regional business unit, he was responsible for project development, finance & management, which includes leading Sky Solar's business operations in the region as well as coordination with relevant parties such as governments, local authorities, institutions, banks and energy off-takers, with more than 140MW proven fully developed projects in the region of which 85MW are fully financed and under-construction, in addition to another 300MW qualified pipeline underdevelopment. On January 2006, he has been appointed as VP of Business Development for the Americas as result of consolidation of the company’s business in the region. He has been actively participating with the Mexican Ministry of Energy on the guidelines for the long-term contract auctions of renewable energy. He is currently working in the financial structuring of some of those tendered contracts. Before joining the Nadbank, David Diaz worked for the Mexican Federal Government, at the Secretaría de Hacienda y Crédito Público. David Díaz holds a bachelor degree in Economics; a Master’s degree in Economics from El Colegio de Mexico; and a Master’s degree in Finance from the University of Warwick, England.

Antes de unirse a DWM, Robert trabajó para Citigroup, donde era responsable de la creación, estructuración, negociación y ejecución de transacciones financieras estructuradas para los prestatarios soberanos y corporativos en toda América Latina, en sectores como petróleo y gas, energías renovables, infraestructura de transporte e instituciones financieras.
Robert obtuvo su MBA en la Universidad de Chicago Booth School of Business y posee un Máster de Ciencias de la Universidad Torcuato di Tella de Argentina, donde estudió como becario embajador de Buena Voluntad de la Fundación Rotaria. José has over 20 years of experience as CEO of independent power producers, as well as a senior investment banker, private equity and venture capital investor and entrepreneur. Currently, he is a Managing Director of USRG Mesoamerica Clean Energy Fund, a private equity fund which invests in renewable and clean energy in Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean. He is Co-Founder of several cleantech and technology startups, including HYBRICO Energy Technolgies, Ltd., which designs and manufactures “hybrid power” equipment for off-grid and bad-grid telecom sites, Chopinmol.com, an electronic retailer targeting Latam migrants living in the U.S. and Bitmec, an online healthcare and health insurance management platform. José is Executive Advisor of Kingo Energy, a start-up provider of pay-as-you-go solar power for off-grid communities. Previously, José was CEO of Pan American Hydro Corporation, a Canadian developer of run-of-river hydropower projects in Latin America. He was Managing Partner of Grevillea Capital, a Spanish boutique investment and advisory firm focusing on the European clean energy and renewables markets. He was also CEO of Global3 Energía, a Spanish independent power producer owned by ArcLight Capital, and head of Citigroup´s Latin American Power Group base in NY, where he completed over $12 billion in M&A and capital-raising transactions. José has an MBA and JD from Stanford Business School and Stanford Law School, respectively, and a B.A. in Economics (magna cum laude) from the University of Maryland.

Strong of 17 years of experience in the energy sector I had the opportunity to work on the whole energy value chain within the ENGIE Group (from energy sales to supply including trading and gas transportation). Then, three years ago, I joined as investment manager ENGIE Rassembleurs d’Energies, ENGIE’s corporate impact venture fund, which invests in profitable, local enterprises providing B to C, sustainable and relevant energy access solutions to poor and remote populations. By the end of 2016, 5 years after its creation, the fund has achieved 18 investments on 4 continents, covering a wide scope of activities, ranging from access to electricity through solar solutions, to access to clean cooking solutions or to energy efficiency.
Today, in charge of Latin America, I represent the fund in Boards of Directors of two young companies engaged in the energy services to the Base of Pyramid in Mexico (home solar system for off-grid populations and biogas solutions for small farmers). Additionally, I'm in charge of measuring social and environmental impact of ENGIE Rassembleurs d'Energies' portfolio.

Fernando Alvarado tiene una carrera de más de 25 años de experiencia internacional en banca inversión, banca comercial y banca de desarrollo. Tiene 15 años de experiencia directa en evaluación y construcción de portafolios de proyectos de energía renovable en América Latina y El Caribe, habiendo realizado más de 40 transacciones por más de US$100 millones. Su experiencia financiera, de crédito, y de inversiones incluye trabajar con financiamiento de IFC, BID, Citibank, Finnfund, BIO, Triodos, BCIE y FOMIN, así como con varios bancos comerciales en Centro América.
Participa en la Junta Directiva de Fundación Veragua de Costa Rica y como Asesor de Cleantech Methods de Estados Unidos, un consorcio de desarrollo, incubación, inversión y gestión de políticas en energías limpias en América Latina y El Caribe. Ciudadano residente de Costa Rica, tiene un MBA en Banca y Finanzas cum lauda de la Universidad de Costa Rica. Sus pasiones incluyen el buceo (PADI Rescue Diver) y el ciclismo de montaña.
