Elizabeth Robberechts is a Lead Investment Officer in the IIC’s Infrastructure and Energy Division, based in Washington, D.C. Her focus is on the origination and structuring of financings for utility-scale renewable energy projects in Latin America and the Caribbean. For three years, Elizabeth was based in the IDB Group’s office in Santiago, Chile, where she met with dozens of renewable energy developers and witnessed first-hand the dramatic evolution of the solar sector. She has experience in the origination and negotiation of financings for energy projects utilizing wind, PV solar, concentrated solar and geothermal technologies, with a recent emphasis on PV solar financings in Chile, Uruguay and Brazil. Since 2012, Elizabeth has participated in the financing of five PV solar projects in Latin America, including the first project financing of a PV solar project in Chile, as well as the structuring of financing for solar projects exposed to merchant risk. Elizabeth speaks Spanish and English and earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Cornell University.

Craig began his career at the Bank in January 1993, as the Loan Officer for the Middle East and North Africa, was appointed as the Bank’s Environmental Liaison Officer in 1994, and also served as a Director for International Business Development from 1998-2008, where he covered the Asia Pacific and Latin America Regions. In 2008, he created the Bank’s Renewable Energy Business Development Initiative. In the 5 years since this Initiative was launched the Bank has authorized over $2 billion in support of renewable energy exports. In addition to his position at the Bank, Craig has served as an Adjunct Professor of International Business, and International Project Finance at Georgetown University since 1997.

Strong of 17 years of experience in the energy sector I had the opportunity to work on the whole energy value chain within the ENGIE Group (from energy sales to supply including trading and gas transportation). Then, three years ago, I joined as investment manager ENGIE Rassembleurs d’Energies, ENGIE’s corporate impact venture fund, which invests in profitable, local enterprises providing B to C, sustainable and relevant energy access solutions to poor and remote populations. By the end of 2016, 5 years after its creation, the fund has achieved 18 investments on 4 continents, covering a wide scope of activities, ranging from access to electricity through solar solutions, to access to clean cooking solutions or to energy efficiency Today, in charge of Latin America, I represent the fund in Boards of Directors of two young companies engaged in the energy services to the Base of Pyramid in Mexico (home solar system for off-grid populations and biogas solutions for small farmers). Nicolas Darius Allien has been involved in the Haitian energy sector in various capacities for more than eight years. After an internship at the electric utility, EDH, he joined the Bureau of Mines and Energy in February 2008, where he worked primarily on promoting the development of renewable energy and energy efficiency. In 2011, he received a Fulbright scholarship to study at Northeastern University. While studying in Boston, he worked on the development of a non-rotating wind energy generator that has undergone performance tests in the MIT wind tunnel. At the end of his studies in August 2013, he returned to Haiti and joined the Office of the Minister Delegate in charge of Energy Security. There he worked on promoting renewable energy, and energy data management. He is currently working as a Senior Energy Specialist at the Energy Cell of the Ministry of Public Works, Transportation and Communications (MTPTC). As such, he contributed in the development and supervision of renewable energy projects carried out by MTPTC. Mr. Allien is also an adjunct professor at the State University of Haiti and Quisqueya University where he teaches courses related to physics and energy. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Electromechanical Engineering from the College of Science of the State University of Haiti. He also holds a Masters’ degree in Energy Systems from Northeastern University and a Graduate Certificate in Engineering Leadership from the Gordon Engineering Leadership Program of the same university.

Michael Ott, Vice President, is a member of the North American Renewable Power Team within BlackRock's Infrastructure Investment Group. Dr. Calixte has won the best paper award for young researcher in 2002 from the Institute of Electrical Engineers of Japan and earned 3 rd place graduate student paper contest at the North American Power Symposium 2004, University of Idaho, USA. Dr. Calixte is currently a full-time professor at Quisqueya University and the Dean of the school of Science, Engineering and Architecture. He is a part-time lecturer in power systems at the School of Science of Haiti State University (Université d’Etat d’Haiti) and Lumiere University in Haiti. He is the Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs at Quisqueya University in Haiti. Iñigo leads Solarpack’s business in the Andean Region, reporting to Solarpack’s CEO. Solarpack develops, builds and operates utility scale PV power plants worldwide, having operations in several countries in LatAm, including Chile, Peru and Uruguay.
Iñigo has over 15 years of experience in the renewable energy business, having held executive responsibilities in several multinational corporations. He joined Solarpack from SunEdison, where he was O&M Director for LatAm. Prior to this, he worked for the Spanish construction and services multinational FCC, acting as Head of Renewable Energy Development, and for Iberdrola Renewables, firstly as O&M engineer and finally as O&M Director for USA, based in Philadelphia, USA.
Born in Spain in 1978, Iñigo holds a M. Sc. Industrial Engineering degree by the Universidad Pontificia de Comillas ICAI (Madrid, Spain) and an Executive MBA by IESE Business School.

Engineer Sergio Asenjo is Electronic Engineer by Catholic University ICAI at Madrid (Spain). He gained his professional experiences in Asea Brown Boveri developing his career in all different positions at Automation and Electrical Systems projects in the Utility (Electricity, Gas and Water) business, gaining strong experience in Conventional Power Generation in all type of Power Plants (Coal, CCPP, Hydro, Diesel, etc.) , starting the activities on Solar Business in ABB at Power Systems.
He was the Local BU Manager for the Power Generation Business and Network Management at Spain and Portugal, within ten years. Additionally, he was heading the Center of Competence for Solar Systems within the Power Systems Division, doing all kind of projects of Photovoltaic, Thermal Concentrated Solar as well as Microgrids.
He had the Global role of Business Line Manager Solar at Power Systems Division until end of December 2015.
In 2016 funded with other partners Quantum Power Group a global renewable energy developer leveraging their experience in renewable and hybridizing with conventional energy with innovative solutions.
He was also professor during 12 years at Electronic Engineer by Catholic University of ICAI at Madrid (Spain).

Markus joined Faro Energy from his role as Managing Director of Yingli Brazil, Brazil's market-leading solar module supplier. He also played a key role in Yingli's sponsorship of the 2014 Fifa World Cup in Brazil. Under his leadership Yingli achieved a local market share of more than 30%.
Previously, Markus was Vice-President of Sales Operations and Director of Crystallization and Wafering for Q-Cells SE in Germany and spent 7 years with McKinsey & Company in Berlin, São Paulo and Detroit, specializing on strategy and transformation projects for automotive and high-tech clients.

Fernando Cubillos is the Head of Energy at the Infrastructure and Energy Division of the Inter-American Investment Corporation (IIC). Mr. Cubillos is a Chilean national, is an energy and climate finance expert, with 24 years experience and deep knowledge in power and carbon markets. He has structured, financed, and managed energy and carbon related projects and transactions in Latin America and Africa.
Prior to joining the IIC, he was the founder and managing partner of Antuko Comercialization, an energy advisory and development firm focused in innovative solutions for power markets, first in Chile, and then in Mexico. In 2013, Antuko launched the first Price Stabilization Fund for renewable energy projects, a hedging structure to mitigate merchant and production volatility risk. Antuko also developed proprietary models and softwares to evaluate power market risks in different countries.
Previously Mr. Cubillos was the head for Latin America of the Environmental Markets Unit of J.P. Morgan. He also held positions in the Carbon Finance Unit of the World Bank, and Hidroeléctrica Guardia Vieja, a power firm in Chile.
Mr. Cubillos holds an Industrial and Electric Engineering degree from Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Maryland, USA.

Javier Rodríguez de Colmenares is the Chief of the Infrastructure & Energy Division at the Inter‐ American Investment Corporation (IIC) since August 2016. As head of the Division, he leads the private sector agenda of IDB Group in the infrastructure space with a focus on Transportation, Energy, Water & Sanitation, PPPs and Social Infrastructure (Education & Health). Mr. Rodriguez de Colmenares, a Spanish national, has extensive experience in Project Finance, LBOs, Debt Advisory, PPP structuring as well as in Derivatives, Risk Management and Debt re‐structuring in Latin America, North America, Europe and Australia. Prior to joining the IIC, he was Deputy Chief Risk Officer at Banco Santander Brasil where he led a team of 1,000 people and managed a portfolio of more than USD 200 Billion in the middle of one of the worst macro‐economic and political crisis in Brazil of the last century. His major responsibilities were in the Wholesale, Middle Market and Sales & Trading portfolios. During his time in Brazil, the share price more than doubled. Before working in Brazil, he was Global Head of Project & Acquisition Finance for the Santander Group based in Madrid leading a team of more than 50 people based in Madrid, London, New York, Mexico City, Sao Paulo, Santiago, Bogota and Sydney. During his tenure as Global Head of Project Finance, Santander ranked Top 3 in the Global Project Finance Bookrunner League Tables and the bank developed the Project Bond underwriting platform, particularly in the Americas, involving domestic and international institutional investors in the financing of infrastructure and energy assets. He has been very active in the photovoltaic regulation development in several countries, namely he is cofounder of UNEF, the main PV association in Spain. Juan was born in Lleida (Spain) in 1971. Juan is married and has three children. He is a Telecommunications Master Engineer graduated at ETSETB-UPC in Barcelona (Spain) back in 1996. He is currently based in Miami (U.S.) and he speaks fluent Spanish, English and French. He initially developed for four years as software engineer at INGENICO in Barcelona, Madrid, London, Paris and U.S. Afterwards, Juan joined the US Telecommunications firm CIENA, where he developed for four more years as technical support engineer, systems engineer and account manager working with international customers in the range of Telefonica, Vodafone, France Telecom, Portugal Telecom, IBM, HP, etc.

Maarten Boute is the Chairman of Digicel Haiti, the largest telecommunications provider in Haiti with over 4.5m customers.
Maarten joined Digicel Haiti as COO in January 2009 and was promoted to CEO in December 2009. Prior to working for Digicel, Maarten was Group CEO at Effortel Europe for whom he launched an MVNE in Brussels, Belgium that launched MVNOs in Taiwan, Poland, Russia, Italy, Belgium and France in partnership with large brands such as the French retailer Carrefour. Prior to that, Maarten held senior positions at Orange Group, based in Belgium.
In April 2012, Maarten decided to leave the CEO role at Digicel to be able to set up his own businesses in Haiti. Maarten continued to work for Digicel Group as a Senior Advisor, and launched 2 new ventures in Haiti. Maarten is Founder of SURTAB SA a company that manufactures and sells high quality and affordable Android Tablet PC’s and eLearning solutions in Haiti. Maarten is also Founder of RE-VOLT SA, a social business that provides pay-as-you-go off-grid electrification services in rural areas of Haiti not covered by the electrical grid.

Mr. Díaz is currently Project Development Officer at the North American Development Bank (Nadbank), where he is concentrated in renewable energy transactions. He has worked on numerous environmental projects, including wind, solar, methane gas, water-wastewater, solid waste, and air quality projects in both sides of the US-Mexico border. He has been actively participating with the Mexican Ministry of Energy on the guidelines for the long-term contract auctions of renewable energy. He is currently working in the financial structuring of some of those tendered contracts. Before joining the Nadbank, David Diaz worked for the Mexican Federal Government, at the Secretaría de Hacienda y Crédito Público. David Díaz holds a bachelor degree in Economics; a Master’s degree in Economics from El Colegio de Mexico; and a Master’s degree in Finance from the University of Warwick, England.
NADB renewable energy transactions include 15 solar parks and 13 wind farms for a total generation capacity of 1.9 GW.

Richard Hansen is Founder and President of Soluz, Inc. For three decades, he has maintained a strong commitment to efforts to advance access to electricity using stand-alone photovoltaic (PV) systems in areas of developing countries that are not served by electrical grids. In 1984, he introduced PV technology in the Dominican Republic using small PV systems installed by local enterprises combined with microfinance to make PV affordable for rural families. This breakthrough became an early model that helped to guide other organization, such as the World Bank, with the integration of solar PV into electrification plans. Soluz, Inc., founded in 1993, provides consulting services to advance energy access. Through Soluz Hansen has advised solar PV projects that have delivered first-time electricity for millions of people. Thru its subsidiary, Soluz Honduras, founded in 1994, the company has also directly supplied tens of thousands of off-grid PV systems. Mr. Hansen started his career with the Westinghouse Electric Corporation as a manufacturing engineer and later as Manager of Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering in a business unit that produced heavy equipment for large coal-fired power plants. Hansen has a BS Mechanical Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) and an MBA from Boston University.

Prior to working with Solarplaza Borja spent 9 years in China focusing on managing a variety of sustainability related projects in areas including microfinance, education and healthcare throughout the Greater China region. He also held the position of Team Lead in Microsoft focusing on software localization testing for Windows 7.
Borja holds a Master Degree in International Development Studies from the University of Sydney and speaks several languages including Spanish, Mandarin, Dutch, French and English.
